Inception Art Show

Friday 06 May - Sunday 08 May

www.dalkeithcountrypark.co.uk/event/inception-art-show/

Inception returns to Dalkeith Palace 06 – 08 May 2022, showcasing a curated collection of contemporary artists.

The art show launched in 2021 to celebrate the re-emergence of artists after the long hiatus suffered by the creative industries during the pandemic.

Following its resounding success last year, we are delighted to continue to develop this celebration of creativity. For its second incarnation, Inception has invited an inspirational collection of modern and contemporary artists, sculptors, photographers and painters to share their work, some of which can be viewed in our gallery below.

As Inception is an art sales exhibition, you will have the opportunity to purchase the artwork during the show. Entry slots are open every hour, however you are welcome to stay and enjoy the exhibition for longer after arrival. We very much look forward to welcoming you at Inception.

Entry tickets are now on sale priced £3.

New work

Victoria has recently completed a very large oil entitled Storm Clouds, Liguria, measuring 115 x 188cms. Given the size of this work, the artist felt emboldened to develop a new approach to her Divisionist style, inasmuch as the space encouraged a larger, stronger rendition of lowering storm clouds, and having virtually finished the Sky, as did Alfred Sisley, she allowed the stronger shapes in the sky to inform the way in which she represented everything else in that work, all belonging to the same wild, colourful Super Realism of this alternative world. Like Botero, whose flowers, animals houses all share the same treatment as the humans that he depicts so that they all “fit” into his highly original world.

This is the first work to be approached in this manner... it will not be the last.

New works

In 2018/19 Victoria completed a large oil of Sopwell House Hotel, St Albans with the owner, Abraham Bergerano and his then fiancée, Baroness Eugenie van Harinxma. She is currently working on very large Ligurian (Italy) land and seascape, and large portrait of spectacular Marchmont House, Scottish Borders. She has also recently completed a seascape with Venice.

Ullswater, the Lake District

Oil on Canvass, 6 foot by 4 foot, the largest painting ever undertaken. The composition was set, but the work took over a year because the basic style evolved during the actual painting of Ullswater, causing numerous u-turns, repaints, fine-tuning, disregarding any time pressures, allowing a natural evolution to take place in its own time, which is what has happened here ............
